For Fall break, we took a mini vacation to Springfield, Illinois. What's in Springfield? Sam told everyone the Simpsons, of course. Sadly we didn't see any Simpsons. Instead, we saw the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum, Home and Law office. The Museum was amazing!
Inside the museum with the Lincoln family.
Sam with the shady John Wilkes Booth.
Marlee's favorite exhibit was Mrs. Lincoln's Attic. It had period clothing for kids to dress up in, Lincoln logs, and a Lincoln home replica doll house. She really liked dressing up!
Contemplating life with young Lincoln.
The Lincoln home. Marlee threw an awesome fit on our tour...most likely because your weren't supposed to touch anything! She didn't really like that idea.
The Law office was closed for restorations. That was OK with us because Marlee was pretty done with tours :)
Lincoln's Tomb
You're supposed to rub his nose for luck!
The must eat food of Springfield is called a horseshoe. It's a piece of Texas toast topped with a hamburger patty, topped with tons of fries all smothered in cheese. It was a delicious heart attack! I ordered a pony shoe and I still couldn't finish it!
Marlee and her riding companion!
