Mother's Day Flowers

For Mother's day Marlee and Sam (mostly Sam) gave me a planter box for our balcony.  They also told me I could go pick out whatever flowers I wanted.  This is how it all turned out.

I chose two Petunias and two Impaitens.  Petunias because the last one I had was brought back from the brink of death several times and still grew and blossomed many times over.  Impatiens because I just thought they were pretty.

Top view.  So far they are doing well.  A few of the flowers have been torn up from the high winds we have been getting.  Overall though they look healthy and happy.

Marlee has lots of fun playing in the dirt.  I let her help me fill up the flower box and then she played in the dirt for a while before I put the flowers in.  She wanted to keep going after they were in too!  She shows gardening potential.  I'm sure its the genes she gets from her Grandpas!

Here are a few shots of Marlee helping me plant and water the new flowers!
